Saturday in Alabama

NOTE: Sorry for any crummy grammar/writing in advance.

I went to Alabama and now posting from the hotel room. It was a 3 1/2 or so road trip to go see the space center. I’m not usually interested in museums that much. Well, it actually depends but I rather be places where I get to do stuff.

We came to Alabama using some weird thing that tells us where to go when we are driving. Every time we went a different way than it wanted it said: Recalculating. It was so funny until it started getting annoying. Never depend on those things, they make you go the wrong way sometimes.

In the Space Center Museum, we watched Hail Columbia! in the IMAX dome they had. It was very weird and they also show movies there like Spiderman 3 and I think Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is next. After that, we walked through the place. I can’t put any pictures up because we don’t have the thing to hook up to the computer/laptop.

When we got done, we went to a nearby Costco. My grandpa’s frame broke in his glasses and we went there to get them fixed. It was very creepy going inside. It was set up the exact same way as the back home. Grandma said there was a place to buy food. We ended up getting hotdogs because it was $1.50 per a hotdog plus a soda. This guy in front of us kept looking back at us. It started to freak me out some. When passed his table to sit down and eat, he saids ‘Choose Your Weapon’. It was really random but my brother was wearing a shirt that said it. Its a gamer shirt with game controllers on it. My brother said he is obviously a gamer type person. Later on, the guy went to the pianos which were really close by the tables. He starts playing video game theme songs like Super Mario, Pokemon ect. on the piano. It was so cool and funny at the same time. We wished we had digital camera to record him.

Finally, we left to go check in at the hotel. My brother usually ends up on the couch bed most of the time. But… he actually got his own bed and I have to share with mom. I really hate sharing with her. She like stares at me and thats all she ever does most of the time. When we eat and she already ate, she sits down with us and stares at us eating. I dislike that very much but I guess you can’t do a ton being deaf and all.

We went down to the pool with my grandma and uncle for a bit. I have only been swimming twice this whole summer so far.

Around 6 o’clock, we went to a seafood/chicken place for dinner. We met up with our Aunt and talked a bit. Well, my grandparents and uncle were the ones talking. It is impossible to get a word in their conversations and it gets on my nerves. I think they prefer us kids to be silents unless its an update about school or something successful we did. Or maybe, I don’t have something to say most of the time so they don’t expect me to say anything at all.

Tomorrow we are going out on the lake on a platoon boat (I think). Any updates will come late tomorrow night if I have anything interesting.

  1. haha it’s awesome when people play videogame music on the piano. there’s loads of videos of it on youtube! a woman used to play super mario on the out of tune piano at the restaurant i used to work at. it was pretty terrible but i still appreciated it! :)
    xx

  2. lol, I wish I could play video game music on the piano! Hope you’re enjoying your trip. Swimming sounds like fun, I use to go all the time but rarely ever now. Enjoy the boat trip!!

  3. This site is uber!

  4. I don’t think I’d be able to go to a science museum unless it was really cool. But uhh yeah grandparents never let you get in a word no matter how hard you try. Especially mine lol. I’ve been on a car ride to Wisconsin dells and it took I think 7 hours from Lansing, MI. So I’m quite used to it though it was long lol. Have fun on the lake hun and take care.

  5. OH wow, it sounds like you had a nice time with the family - even with some strange incidents :) I love those sat nav things. I love it when you go over new roads and they’re completely incorrect.

  6. Hahah sounds like you had a fun time. Woahh~ a guy who plays videogame themes on the piano :D I’m a videogame girl myself so I would totally dig that - hahaha~ Take care! xoxo

  7. Wow! Sounds like you had a busy but fun time. I wish I could go on a road trip but sometimes it can be a little boring being stuck in a car for hours

  8. I’ve never been to the southern part of the U.S., aside from Orlando, Florida. I think it would be cool to visit, though, considering how different it must be from living in New York City. That guy in Costco sounds kind of weird. But the piano playing is definitely funny. :)

  9. Haha that is so great. I love video game themes and on the piano is even better. My favorite one is probably super mario bros.

  10. Hah yay for video game themes. The guy that played them seems quite random, but hey, that’s all settled by his video game piano abilities I think.

  11. Hey there! Well, Alabama sounds neat! I’ve never been. But, I did drive through like Georgia, which is pretty close I suppose. The south is so pretty! The space museum sounds cool. I couldn’t imagine watching a regular movie at the IMax, that’d be so nausiating, ha. Anyways, take care and have fun the rest of your trip!

  12. It seems like you had a good time. I totally love it when people play cute tunes I recognize on the piano. I know someone who can play Super Mario on the piano as well. Have fun on the lake :)

  13. Sounds like you had an awesome time :D
